IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Au’Jai
Davenport
August 17, 2006 – May 7, 2025
Au'Jai Cameo Davenport was born August 17, 2006 to Shalonda Monroe and Austin Davenport in Columbus, Ohio. We affectionately called her SUTTA!
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Au'Jai Davenport, who departed this life on May 7, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, at the youthful age of 18.
Au'Jai was a radiant soul who brought joy, energy, and light to every life she touched. She was a hard-working young lady. She started working and learned how to drive and received her driver's license when she was 17 years old. She's a recent graduate of Watkins Memorial High School in the Southwest Licking School District, she was full of hope and dreams, carrying herself with fierce determination, and a vivacious spirit.
She found happiness in dancing, traveling here and abroad, and listening to music, passions that reflected her fun-loving nature and creative heart. Her laughter was infectious, her energy magnetic, and her presence vibrant to those around her. Au'Jai loved spending time with her friends and family, nieces and nephews dancing with them doing tiktoks, feeding them something delicious or falling asleep with them nestled on her chest. She loved life.
Au'Jai now joins her beloved mother, Shalonda Monroe, and her dear maternal grandmother, Gail, in eternal peace and glory.
She is survived by her biological siblings: sisters A'zahne Davenport, Dashanette Davenport, Jaionna Banner, Ricki-Leigh Davenport; and brothers Michael Bush and Austin Davenport Jr.
She is also remembered with deep love by her adopted family—parents Gregory Sheppard and Latrice Sheppard—and siblings Alex Goode, Dominique Goode, Terry Goode Jr. (Baiyina), Gregory Sheppard Jr. (Vonshay), Brielle Corley, Sabria Corley, Joseph Sheppard, Nevaeh Sheppard, and Rashawn Sheppard.
Followed by her God parents Sharonda Walker and Daires Smith, Aunts and uncle Jeanette Monroe, Shaniqua Keith and David Monroe, cousins Shawanda Bell, Latawn Carpenter, and Jeremiah Keith a host of nieces and nephews and cousins, Naomi Davenport, Amiyah and Amir Bush, Sandy Kendrick, Santreal Kendrick, Mysadie Kendrick, Regginay Reaves, Regginique Reaves and Perene Lewis
Au'Jai's life, though far too brief, was rich in love and connection. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
