Obituary

Jerry Lee Cassidy Jr., 53, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2026, leaving behind a loving family and many friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Jerry was born on November 23, 1972, to Jerry Lee Cassidy Sr. and Joyce Ann Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his beloved wife, Deborah Jeanine Cassidy.

Jerry was a loving father to his son, Caleb Cassidy, and his daughter, Kaitlin Clark and her husband, Mark. He was also a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Emma Jean Deborah Clark, who held a very special place in his heart.

Jerry worked as a security guard with Vanguard Security of America. Those who knew Jerry knew that he was much more than his job title. He was witty, funny, and never seemed to run out of a corny joke to tell. His sense of humor could bring a smile even when it was least expected.

Jerry had a deep love for Southern Gospel music and especially enjoyed singing. Music was an important part of who he was, and his voice and love for singing will be remembered by those who had the privilege of hearing him.

Jerry is survived by his children, Caleb Cassidy and Kaitlin Clark (Mark); granddaughter, Emma Jean Deborah Clark; and his siblings, Christina Wolf; Gina Peabody, husband John, and children Jonathan, Jacob, Jenae and her daughter, and Jianna; Cheryl Wiford, husband Nathan, and children Courtney Wiford (Jeana), Tyler Wiford (wife Jessica and four children), Jordan Wiford (Ashley), and Cynthia Wiford (Simeon and sons); Aaron Cassidy, wife Marbeth, and daughter Brianna; David Cassidy; and Julie Boyd, husband Dan, and children Caleb, Conner, Hayden, and Liam, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Jerry also leaves behind his lifelong friend, Russel White, and Russel’s wonderful wife, Shona, who were a cherished part of Jerry’s life. Their friendship was one that stood the test of time, and their love and support meant more than words can express.

Though Jerry's passing was unexpected, the memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter, his songs, his quick wit, and yes, even his corny jokes, will be deeply missed.

Jerry may be gone from this life, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the music he shared will never be forgotten.
