Celebrating the Life of Xavier Namir Aaron Gibbs
There are no words that can truly capture the loss of Xavier, who passed away on July 8th at just 28 years old. While his life was unexpectedly cut short, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain with us forever.
Xavier was an excellent student who was a part of the National Honor Society, played basketball, ran cross country, and played tennis. Xavier could do anything he put his mind to. He was an amazing father, who adored and loved his kids to the fullest.
Xavier had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and welcomed. Whether he was making someone laugh, helping a friend in need, or simply spending time with family, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He loved spending time with his family and enjoying the company of his handsome sons. He loved playing basketball and making music. His smile, sense of humor, and generous spirit will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind his cherished parents, Risa Kindrix and Aaron Gibbs, grandparents, Melody Kindrix, Michael Hester, Daphne Sobers-Gibbs and Gregory Aaron Gibbs. His siblings, Aaryanna Gibbs (Milah McCoffin and Myles McCoffin) and Anyiah Davis. A host of siblings, nieces, and nephews. His sons Namir Gibbs (Cashae Mayo). Kai Gibbs, Xalyn Gibbs, Saint Gibbs, Haze Williams (BrookLynn Williams ) who will continue to honor his memory every day.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that love never dies. We will carry his memory with us always and strive to live in a way that honors the life he lived.
A letter to my dad
Dad, today I write to the sky, hoping my words reach you somehow. Life kept moving, but a part of me stopped when you left. I hope you can hear me, even from Heaven. I look for you in my own reflection, in the shape of my hands, the way I walk. Your voice still lives in my heart. Your words still guide my path. Sometimes I feel strong. Sometimes I quietly break. But your love holds me together. The world is quieter now that you're gone. Filled with unspoken words & missing laughter. If I could find you in the stars, l'd ask, Why did you leave without a final goodbye? There are days I want to make you proud, and days | just want you back. But now I carry your legacy like a heavy coat. Will I ever fill the space you left, or will I always be the echos of your steps? I hope you know how much I truly loved you. I hope I'm making you proud. Thank you for being my hero. You may be gone, but you live in me forever.
Love, your first born
